One reason why you need to be connected to a church family is to fulfill your calling to serve other believers in practical ways. Your service is desperately needed in the Body of Christ. Each of us has a role to play, and every role is important.
The Bible says EVERY Christian is called to service. God has a ministry for you in His church and a mission for you in the world. There is no insignificant ministries in the church. Some are visible and some are behind the scenes, but all are valuable. Every ministry matters because we are all dependent on each other to function.
Today, thousands of local churches are dying because of Christians who are unwilling to serve. They sit on the sidelines as spectators, and the Body suffers. For Christians, service is the heart of the Christian life. Study without service leads to spiritual stagnation -- summarized from Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life".
We encourage all of you who regularly attend Hilltop Chapel, and who are not currently members, to prayerfully consider your continuing fellowship with us as active members. We have annual elections and we need mature Christian members from whose ranks church leaders can be selected to continue our ministry on the mountain. Members are encouraged to attend church business meetings to bring everyone on the same page, to offer constructive ideas, to hold our leaders accountable and to strengthen the bond and encourage unity as we go forward into the future. What we get out of our church is what we put into it.
We who believe are carefully joined together with Christ as parts of a beautiful constantly growing temple of God. -- Ephesians 2:21 TLB
