INFORMATION OF HILLTOP CHAPEL MINISTRIES, GROUPS, MISSIONS, PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

DEVOTIONAL: THE TEN COMMANDMENTS WRITTEN BY DEACON RICK MCCOMB I sometimes wonder how children growing up in this world will come to the Cross. In homes where Bibles are not present and the word is not spoken and prayers are not said. Where the great and wonderous stories of the Bible are not read to them, where even the simplest commands of the Lord are not known and thus not obeyed. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS KNOWN AS THE DECOLOGUE; 1) “YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GOD BEFORE ME”. (EXODUS 20:3) 2) “YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELF AN IMAGE IN THE FORM OF ANYTHING”; (EXODUS 20:4-6) 3) “YOU SHALL NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD YOUR GOD IN VAIN. (EXODUS20:7) 4) “REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY BY KEEPING IT HOLY. (EXODUS 20:8-11) 5) “HONOR YOU FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER.” (EXODUS 20:12} 6) “YOU SHALL NOT MURDER.” (EXODUS 20:12) 7) “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY.” (EXODUS 20:14) 8) “DO NOT STEAL.” ( EXODUS 20:15) 9) “YOU SHALL NOT GIVE FALSE TESTIMONY.” (EXODUS 20:16) 10 “YOU SHALL NOT COVET YOUR NEIGHBORS HOUSE,,,,,OR ANYTHING THAT BELONGS TO YOUR NEIGHBOR.” (EXODUS 20:17} When the Israelis were wandering in the desert, they had forgotten God’s Commandments. This is when God called Moses to the mountain and gave to him these Ten Commandments. All this seems easy enough to live your life by, but so many just can’t seem to do it. All in all the total of God’s commandments is 613. Of those 613 these ten stand out as foundational moral laws. Matthew 6:19-21; Lay not up for yourselves treasure upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal, But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through or steal. For where your treasure is there will your heart be also. Raise up your children following these simple 10 moral steps and when they are grown they will pass them on to their children. The Gospel of Jesus Christ needs to be shared with children and adults also. May God Bless you and keep you always Deacon Rick McComb, Hilltop Chapel Church
